50PLUS seeks window stickers for public toilets in Almere

50PLUS council member Ymi Knaap has submitted written questions to Almere’s municipal executive, calling for clear stickers on windows to make public toilets easier to find. Knaap said signage is unclear at several locations and that the HogeNood app is not accessible to everyone, including some older people who need toilets in public spaces. She also suggested a leaflet showing where the facilities are located.
Knaap has previously advocated for more public toilets. In April 2025, Almere’s municipality announced that 27 existing facilities in places including neighbourhoods, libraries and other public buildings would be made publicly accessible, increasing the reported total from eight to 35. Knaap said she had not seen the promised signposting.
