David Hoppenbrewers, a 38-year-old ice cream maker from Gouda, developed an ice cream intended to stimulate saliva production in cancer patients affected by chemotherapy and radiation treatment in the head and neck area. He said the product could make eating easier. Hospitals across the Netherlands are testing it.
Hoppenbrewers lost his stepfather to cancer and now helps others facing similar treatment effects.
