The association Meten = Weten asked the Council of State to require the province of Drenthe to strengthen its management plans for the province’s 12 Natura 2000 sites. A spokesperson argued that the province should do more to prevent the deterioration of nature, including from pesticides and dehydration. The case concerns what the association described as the automatic extension of the management plans. The province’s plans remain at issue before the Council of State.
