Zevenaar is set to join the Netherlands' network of emergency support points, which currently numbers 70. The initiative comes amid concerns about disruptive crises, including prolonged power outages and cyberattacks, and the cabinet believes the country should be better prepared.

The Netherlands plans to establish an emergency support point in every municipality within a few years. Zevenaar is expected to be among the municipalities joining the network soon.
