Woonpalet, the municipality of Zeewolde and Huurdersbelangen Zeewolde have launched the Van Groot naar Beter project to encourage tenants living in spacious rental homes to move to smaller homes. The initiative is intended to free larger homes for families and other residents who need more space.
The project is for Woonpalet tenants who live with up to two people in a home with at least four rooms, want to move to a home with up to three rooms and are registered as a housing seeker with Woonpalet. Eligible participants can receive up to €2,000 toward moving costs. Under certain conditions, they may also keep their current net rent in the new home if at least one person moving is 55 or older; if the new home has a lower rent, the lower amount applies. A move depends on the availability of a suitable rental home.
