Photographer Ype Driessen, 50, kept his homosexuality secret for years. He described realizing as a boy that he was attracted to men and said that a party eventually changed his attitude, after which he stopped holding back. In his book *Vanilla*, Driessen writes openly about dating men through the gay dating app Grindr. He said his mother could skip passages if she preferred not to read them.
