The presidents of the youth organizations of the CDA, D66 and VVD criticized the peace movement Stop the War, saying it was frightening young people with what they described as misleading portrayals of military service. They said the choice to serve voluntarily remains guaranteed, except in an extreme situation such as Russian troops being at the border.
