West Nile virus ends Arie Pieters’ daily visits to two crows

Arie Pieters, 64, had followed the same pair of crows every day for 12 years in 's-Gravendeel. The experience resulted in 10 books, totaling 1,400 pages, and many stories. His daily visits ended abruptly this summer because of the West Nile virus, and he had to say goodbye to the birds.
