Weekend closure of the A6 between Emmeloord and Lelystad Noord

The A6 between Emmeloord and Lelystad Noord is to be closed southbound from Friday at 7:30 p.m. until Monday at 6 a.m. because major maintenance is moving to the other side of the motorway. Northbound traffic will also be unable to travel from Lelystad Noord to Emmeloord from Sunday at 7:30 p.m. until Monday at 6 a.m. Motorists will be diverted via the N50 and Kampen. During part of the weekend, one narrow lane will remain open between the Ketelbrug and Urk/Nagele.

The work involves applying a new asphalt layer in Noordoostpolder. The section between Urk/Nagele and the Ketelbrug is nearly finished, but the exit from Lelystad to Urk will remain closed until all maintenance is complete. The Urk/Nagele exit from Emmeloord and the entrance on the Domineesweg towards Emmeloord will also remain closed for the time being. The work is expected to be completed by the end of October, with the motorway due to return to normal operation on 1 November; the section between Bant and Lemmer is expected to be finished a few days later.
