Mayor Han ter Heegde closed a house on Sint Vitusstraat in Bussum for three months after municipal supervisors found two sex workers there during a check in early August. The municipality said the property was being used for commercial sexual services without the required operating permit and contrary to the environmental plan. No one was living in the apartment. The closure began on 7 October and is intended to end the use and prevent the activities from resuming. Neighbors said they had noticed unfamiliar men visiting the house during the day and at night, sometimes for only a few minutes. Some said visitors had rung the wrong doorbell at night. The municipality had begun investigating after reports of suspected prostitution and nuisance.
