A truck left the N9 near the Sand, between Sint Maartenszee and the Schagerbrug exit, and ended up on its side. The driver was injured and taken to hospital by ambulance. Police said there was no other road user involved and that the driver may have swerved to avoid an animal.

The road was closed in both directions before being temporarily opened to allow a recovery vehicle through. It was due to close again from 9 a.m. for the salvage operation, with traffic diverted and the duration of the closure unknown.
