Collision involving a freight train near the Channel Tunnel

Nineteen people were injured in a collision involving a freight train and a vehicle near the French entrance to the Channel Tunnel in Calais. Reports variously described the vehicle as a bus, minibus or van carrying truck drivers who were preparing to board the train; one report said it struck a stationary freight train on the vehicle-loading platform.
Early reports said five people were seriously injured, while later reports said all victims were out of danger and that there were no deaths or life-threatening injuries. Rail traffic in both directions was reported to have been suspended.
