Soil decline in the Wadden region remained within the limits in 2025. There are currently six gas fields in the region. In Fryslân, these include Nes, Mudhole and most of the Lauwersoog-Central, Lauwersoog-East and Lauwersoog-West fields. Parts of those fields are in Groningen, as is the Vierhuizen-Oost field.
