Shooting at a school in Aubagne

A 14-year-old student was arrested after a shooting at a secondary school in Aubagne, east of Marseille. The school’s principal and a teacher were injured but their injuries are not life-threatening. One report said four shots were fired and identified the injuries as wounds to the principal’s hip and the teacher’s femur.

The student was reported to have had a large firearm, possibly a shotgun. The motive remains unknown. Authorities said there is no evidence linking the shooting to ongoing student protests in France.
