The railway bridge over De Arne between Arnemuiden and Middelburg had been closed to shipping for months while trains continued to cross it. Historical Shipyard Meerman and marina operators said the closure was costing them money and customers. They said they did not know how long it would take to resolve and that ProRail was not paying compensation.
