Prime Minister Rob Jetten was one of the initiators of Shelter City Nijmegen 12 years ago, when he was parliamentary group leader of D66. Since then, the city has hosted 22 human rights activists for three months, giving them an opportunity to recover from their daily work. Shelter City Nijmegen was described as an example for activists from around the world.
