sc Heerenveen visited PSV after an international break of almost three weeks, with coach Robin Veldman including Mees Hilgers in the squad for the first time. Heerenveen subsequently lost the match. Veldman said he had an almost fit squad available, although two players might be unavailable, and the team did not hold an additional finishing training session after the defeat.
