Rico Verhoeven was in talks for a boxing match with former world champion Deontay Wilder. Verhoeven had agreed to the proposed bout, according to one report, while another said the fight was still likely rather than confirmed.

Verhoeven wanted to fight Wilder in Cardiff on 11 December as part of the undercard for Tyson Fury’s WBA title bout with Anthony Joshua. The proposed match has not been confirmed.
