The antenna of a new Terminal Approach Radar was lifted into place at Schiphol, replacing a radar that has monitored air traffic around the airport for about 30 years. The radar shows air traffic controllers where aircraft are located around Schiphol and supports the safe guidance of flights. The old radar is still operating for now because it has reached the end of its technical life.
