Replacement of gas and water pipes on Haarlemmerdijk
◆2 sources
Liander and Waternet will begin replacing ageing gas and water pipes on Amsterdam’s Haarlemmerdijk on 26 October. The phased work, starting near the Eenhoornsluis by the Korte Prinsengracht, is expected to continue until the end of January 2028. Haarlemmerstraat will be fully closed during the first week, with cyclists diverted via Haarlemmer Houttuinen from the west and Brouwersgracht from the city centre.
After the initial phase, cyclists will be able to pass through the street, but between 07:00 and 17:00 they will be guided through a narrowed bicycle passage that will move toward Haarlemmerplein as work progresses. Through cyclists will also be diverted along the two alternative routes, and motor traffic on Brouwersgracht will run in the reversed direction. Residents and businesses may temporarily lose gas or water service and will be notified several days beforehand. Parking spaces near the Posthoornkerk on Haarlemmer Houttuinen will be used for work storage.
