The creators of New Kids presented Carnival, a film about four friends played by Huub Smit, Tim Haars, Guido Pollemans and Fresku, who have awaited carnival for a year. During the festivities, one of them encounters his 12-year-old daughter, whose existence he had not known, and is asked to care for her. Henry van Loon and Guus Meeuwis also appear in the film; Meeuwis plays an unfavourable version of himself. Jan Biggel's previously announced role was cancelled after he disclosed it prematurely.

The film is set to premiere in Tilburg on 11 November, and scenes were filmed in Brabant. Smit, who plays folk singer Tinus, said he has already been booked for carnival performances; a single report said he performed before about 15,000 people in Belgium and will appear at AFAS with Meeuwis.
