Utrecht will receive more than €4 million less from the national government from 2027 to tackle educational disadvantages in primary schools, following a redistribution of the available funding. The municipal executive informed the city council of the reduction.

The executive also reported that the shortfall in school buildings is growing and that plans for new schools are creating pressure on the space available.
