Redevelopment work begins on Plantage Middenlaan

Road works were reported to have begun on the corner of Plantage Kerklaan and Plantage Middenlaan in Amsterdam, with part of the street closed. The work is part of a redevelopment of Plantage Middenlaan in which the cycle paths will be replaced by wider pavements and cyclists will use the carriageway. Some signs were reportedly still missing or unclear, according to area manager Conny Chan.

Large boulders that had been placed on the road and cycle path as security measures for the Holocaust Museum and the theatre are also affected by the works. If the schedule holds, the redevelopment is due to be completed in April 2027.
