Rats were reported moving around during the day near a trash can and a planting bed on Van Heekplein in central Enschede, including under a planting bed opposite the Primark. PVV councillor Peter Reudink raised the issue with the alderman after observing it himself; he said there had been 14 rats around one trash can. Clamps had not solved the problem, and a poison box was to be opened. The rats’ presence was attributed to human behaviour, although no further details were given.
