Raising homes in Well for Meuse flooding
◆2 sources
Three homes in Well, Noord-Limburg, were raised onto poles, including one lifted by more than 1.5 metres, to protect them from high water on the Meuse. The measure is intended as an alternative to reinforcing the local dike on De Kamp, which no longer met current high-water standards. The homes had flooded in the past. The raised houses are intended to remain dry when the Meuse overtops its banks.
