Amsterdam-Zuid granted a one-year trial permit for a 100-tile rainbow path on Churchilllaan, proposed by residents’ group Churchill Pride. The planned path would include rainbow-coloured pavement markers at 25-metre intervals and QR codes linking to stories from queer people, intended to make support for LGBTQ+ acceptance visible throughout the year.

Some residents opposed the plan and distributed flyers explaining how to object; they said they had received about 120 messages of support for their position. The district has received more than 10 objections and plans a hearing in the coming months. Supporters of the path have also begun distributing flyers.
