Two researchers independently raised substantiated doubts about whether 99-year-old Willem Wilbrink of Arnhem was ever imprisoned in the Dachau concentration camp, as he has said. The Dutch Dachau Committee concluded that this did not happen and said the events Wilbrink recalls are highly unlikely. Wilbrink responded with sadness and rejected the suggestion that he had invented his account. The committee said it recognizes what war trauma can do.
