Proposed area restrictions for security threats

Justice Minister David van Weel proposed additional measures to monitor people identified as a threat to national security, including electronic surveillance and orders requiring them to remain in a designated area such as a neighbourhood. He said the ultimate aim is to remove such people from the country. The mayors of Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam and Utrecht questioned the plan.
