Proposal to allow terraces on the Kijkduin promenade

Alderman Richard de Mos wants The Hague’s city council to change the rules so hospitality businesses on the Kijkduin promenade can add terraces measuring 1.5 metres. Terraces are currently not permitted because the promenade must remain clear for visitors and emergency services. The Marketing Kijkduin Foundation welcomed the proposal, saying the terraces would make the promenade more lively. It was reported as an effort to address the boulevard’s empty appearance and limited growth.
