PRO questions ASML expansion amid grid congestion
◆2 sources
A single report said Eindhoven party PRO submitted council questions about ASML's planned expansion, arguing that the arrival of 20,000 employees could worsen pressure on housing and facilities while electricity-grid congestion delays new housing connections. PRO asked the municipal executive to discuss the situation with ASML and to clarify how employment growth, housing and amenities would be phased.
The same report said the city council had approved the zoning-plan change for the expansion in March, with PRO among those voting in favour, and that ASML has begun construction of a factory with cleanrooms and an office building. It said the municipal executive has not yet responded to PRO's questions.
