A court in The Hague sentenced 33-year-old Ghalied A. to four years in prison for raping a South Korean international student at a student complex in The Hague. He had posed as a police officer to gain entry to her room, saying he had received a tip about drugs there. The rape took place on 12 September 2024, when the student had been in the Netherlands for about a month. The prosecution had sought five years in prison and detention under a hospital order with compulsory treatment.
