Ministers Vincent Karremans of Infrastructure and Water Management and Jaimi van Essen of Nature said larger parts of the Wadden region could be closed for longer periods to residents, fishers and recreational users. They presented this as an option to meet nature targets and prevent further deterioration of protected species and habitats.
