Coloriet announced the expansion of hospice care in Lelystad and gave the former Hospice ’t Hofje the new name Polderluwte. The organisation has also established a specialised team to support healthcare professionals across Flevoland in caring for people who are no longer expected to recover. The expanded care is intended to help people in the final stages of life receive appropriate support at home, in a nursing home or in a hospice. The team consists of nurses working with volunteers, alongside an expert palliative-care team supported by a specialist in elderly-care medicine and an internist-oncologist. It assists healthcare providers with complex care questions, including severe pain and other difficult-to-control symptoms.
