Plans for new caravan sites in Lelystad

◆1 source

Allotment associations in Lelystad are concerned about municipal plans to investigate new caravan sites on the Bosweg and at Houttuinen. The Bosweg plan is the most concrete and could involve 16 mobile homes, potentially requiring part of the popular gardens managed by allotment association ’t Karvel to disappear. At Houttuinen, the municipality is still examining several options for 22 sites. Lelystad currently has one caravan site on Vaartweg, with eight places. Caravan residents want additional sites so their children can also remain in Lelystad. Two petitions have been launched against the plans: ’t Karvel has collected more than 1,000 signatures against the possible Bosweg site, while an online petition to preserve the Houttuinen allotments has received more than 1,200 signatures.

Lelystad to discuss noise restrictions at VV Unicum

1 source

Lelystad alderman Sanne de Wilde said she would organise a meeting between football club VV Unicum and the Environment Agency Flevoland and Gooi en Vechtstreek (OFGV) to discuss restrictions imposed over noise at the club’s fields. She made the commitment during a council meeting after the PVV requested it and called for the measures to be withdrawn immediately. Since October 1, Unicum has not been allowed to use a public-address system or drums at home matches at Sportpark Schouw, or to announce the teams with music. Torches and fireworks are also prohibited. The OFGV said measurements showed that noise around the fields was too high and that the club had breached the rules. Residents, particularly in the Gondel district, have complained about the noise for years.
