Withdrawal of Sportlaan housing plans in The Hague

Alderman Kavish Partiman withdrew the housing plans for the Sportlaan site in The Hague, including the former Haga Hospital, and is preparing a new proposal. He said the move was necessary because the cancellation of an asylum reception centre at the former hospital had created a financial shortfall in the project.
Opposition parties in the city council criticised the decision and said the alderman had not clarified the new plans or their financial consequences. They fear that replacement plans could result in very expensive homes.
