Philippe Sands discusses the challenges facing international law

British-French international lawyer and author Philippe Sands said during a visit to The Hague that international law faced its greatest challenge since 1945. He remained optimistic and combative, and said the post-war lawyers who inspired him did not respond to such challenges by retreating in despair or ranking them as a competition in horror.
