The 61st Golden Televizier-Ring Gala was held at Royal Theatre Carré in Amsterdam, where De Bondgenoten, Kassa and Woeste Grond competed for the main television award. De Bondgenoten won the Golden Televizier-Ring, and its presenter Jan Versteegh also won the award for best presenter.

Peter Jan Rens, a former winner of the Gouden Televizier-Ring, was initially told by the gala’s organisers that there was no place for him at the ceremony in Koninklijk Theater Carré. He said he had received invitations every year since winning the award in 1989 for his programme ‘Het is hier geen hotel’. The organisers later corrected the error, and Rens is attending the gala.

Tobias Camman was reported to have prepared extensively for the Golden Televizier-Ring Gala, where he had a chance to win the Televizier-Ring Online video series award for “Tobi’s Dining Club.” He had his suit made in Italy months earlier and enlisted friends Daan Boom and Stijn van Vliet to help choose his outfit. On the evening before the gala, Camman appeared in style on the blue carpet with Boom and Van Vliet beside him.
