PEC Zwolle dismisses Henry van der Vegt

PEC Zwolle dismissed head coach Henry van der Vegt with immediate effect after eight Eredivisie matches. The club was 16th with four points, having lost six of its eight games; the most recent defeat, at home to SC Cambuur, was reported to have prompted the decision.

Technical director Gerry Hamstra said the club had seen too little stability and sporting development. Van der Vegt, 54, was in his second season as Zwolle’s head coach after previously serving for years as an assistant coach. He was the first Eredivisie coach dismissed this season.
