Residents and entrepreneurs who use the Kop van Lombok parking garage in Utrecht have been affected for years by unsafe situations, pollution and burglaries. A new series of burglaries has added to the nuisance. Holders of parking subscriptions want permission to park on the street, but do not receive permits for that, and the garage is full. The municipality of Utrecht is determined to address the nuisance. Alderman Dennis de Vries (GroenLinks-PvdA) said this during the Utrecht city council’s weekly Question Time.
