No criminal investigation into Marjolein Faber over remarks about Amsterdam district officer

The Public Prosecution Service decided not to open a criminal investigation into PVV politician Marjolein Faber over remarks she made about Mahasin, a district police officer in Amsterdam-Oost, during a parliamentary debate on policing the previous month. Faber had criticised posts by the officer and said her conduct was not neutral, while also questioning her loyalty.

Mahasin had filed a report for defamation and slander, saying that her background, loyalty and integrity had been publicly called into question. The Public Prosecution Service concluded that the report disclosed no suspected criminal offences that could be investigated and ended the case at an early stage.
