The national government and the provinces plan to spend 100 million euros on nature management in 2027. The provinces would provide 56 million euros, while Agriculture Minister Jaimi van Essen of D66 would provide the remainder.

The money is intended for land-based organisations and private managers through a subsidy scheme. The Ministry of Agriculture said it would enable them to maintain forests, ditches and mowing areas.
