Oldebroek ended its LGBTQI+ policy and stopped flying the rainbow flag at its town hall, a decision that has caused division and unrest among residents. The policy change had been included in the coalition agreement of Christian Union Oldebroek, the SGP and Algemeen Belang Oldebroek. A rainbow flag was nevertheless raised at the Kruiskerk in Wezep for Coming Out Day. Mayor Tanja Haseloop-Amsing attended, and reports described hundreds of people at the event. One report said that 379 residents had ordered rainbow flags. Reverend Han Wilmink raised the flag with resident Kjeld Mooi, and reports also said that MPs and State Secretary Van Bruggen of Justice and Security attended.
