A new film in the De Tatta's series, titled De Tatta's: Daan, is being made as a spin-off centered on the character Daan van Kampen. The 21-year-old Sem van der Horst plays the character, and actor John Buijsman said he was proud of van der Horst. Van der Horst and Buijsman said they felt at home with their characters and enjoyed working on the film. Van der Horst said he liked the blunt Rotterdam character, which he described as characteristic of the role he plays.
