Mortgage consultants from De Hypotheekshop warned that local budgets for starter loans are running out. They said higher house prices require larger loans for each starter, while the funds are returning more slowly, putting the availability of the loans under pressure.

The consultants called for the return of a national home-purchase subsidy.
