Court rejects investigation into Philips sleep-apnea policy

The court rejected requests by the Dutch Association of Securities Owners (VEB) and a group of institutional investors for an in-depth investigation into Philips’ policy concerning its sleep-apnea and ventilation devices. The court found insufficient grounds to doubt Philips’ conduct or to conclude that it had withheld crucial information or handled complaints inadequately. The case concerned the global recall in 2021 of ventilation and sleep-apnea devices made by a Philips US subsidiary. No investigation will be launched.
