Jon Rahm leaves LIV Golf

◆1 source

Jon Rahm, the biggest star of the Saudi-funded LIV Golf tour, has informed an American bankruptcy court through his attorney that he will not participate in the planned restart, known as LIV 2.0. He considers the conditions of the new version unacceptable. A final agreement on his departure has not yet been reached, but his exit appears to be taking shape. The 31-year-old Spaniard, a two-time major winner and former world number one, joined LIV Golf from the PGA Tour at the end of 2023. LIV Golf began in 2022 as a rival tour backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, which has invested more than $5 billion in the competition and funded contracts to attract leading players from the PGA Tour.
