A video showing mice in Schiphol’s departure hall circulated on social media. Schiphol said that more mice are currently being seen at the airport, which has previously experienced periods of sharply increased mouse numbers. The airport is monitoring reports and signs of mice and is taking additional measures where necessary. Corinne Kalisaart of Fauna Haarlemmermeer described this year as an exceptionally good year for mice in the area around Schiphol and said weather conditions had helped. The mouse population at the airport appears to be experiencing a peak.
