Dutch housing market in the third quarter

The Dutch real estate association NVM reported that the supply of existing homes increased in the third quarter, giving buyers somewhat more choice and, in some cases, more room to negotiate. NVM-affiliated agents sold 41,700 existing homes, roughly the same number as a year earlier. The average selling price was €503,000, up 1.8% year on year, although it fell slightly from the record level in the second quarter. NVM expects the market to remain tight despite the increased supply. It also reported that grid congestion is delaying about a quarter of housing projects, according to NVM Wonen chair Lana Goutsmits-Gerssen.
