Illegal housing of migrant workers in a Swifterbant warehouse

Police, municipal inspection and interrogation documents reportedly described illegal housing in a warehouse at Industrieweg 84-86 in Swifterbant, Dronten. On June 2, police went there after a rental dispute escalated and found eight migrant workers living in warehouse plot 86, with their belongings placed under a canopy behind the company residence. Living in the warehouse was prohibited under the zoning plan. Five rooms had reportedly been furnished as bedrooms, with kitchen furniture and a cafeteria. Eric Daniëls, who wants to house 128 migrant workers at the site, was reported to have acknowledged publicly that he knew the arrangement was illegal. The situation had met considerable resistance.
