Hans Böhm, 76, who has become one of the Netherlands’ best-known chess ambassadors over more than five decades, and his wife Leny, 62, have decided to devote their legacy to chess. The couple said chess had brought them a life filled with friendships and adventures, as well as their relationship.

They also spoke about their life together for the first time, focusing on what chess had given them rather than on Böhm’s titles or television appearances.
